* the 2nd (and really final) part of the corpus is finished - it now includes letters and the whole thing is over 250 pages, with footnotes and most of the editing done as well, one last reading to catch the y/j problem (I screwed them up because what's y in English transliteration is j in Czech ( Read more... )

So, after quietly working on the disseration on a day-to-day basis at work, I'm finally one stage further. The corpus is finished! I just need to make one more editing (to get the trasliteration correct and kill typos), but The hudred-and-fifty pages of Egyptian texts & translations are FINISHED and the sentences extracted and analysed. So finally I got back to working on my dissertation :o) I've translated two more Egyptian biographies, oneof them being that of a well-travelled guy who had fought beyond the Egyptian southern and northern frontiers (and boasts about it, but they all do).
