Demonic Demotic
or why I'm behind on the dissertation.
It is now clear my dissertation will not be finished before I go to Greece, which is in a week. I have two more chapters to write, of which I'm confident I'll manage one, and then do the last one when I come back and add the final touches. End June is the final deadline.
The reason for this was NOT my procrastination (not that there was none, but I've been very disciplined these days), but the continuous influx of Demotic texts from Egypt that HAD to be read immediately (this side up, remeber?). I did read everything I was asked to read, but these thing do take their time.
Bah. But then, Demotic is FUN. And as I have performed well this year, my professor wants me on the team next year and, if I don't screw up, for ALL future seasons. Now, that's worth some delay on the dissertation.
And in a week, Greece! Sea, sun, wine, good food in unlimited amounts, and, of course, training! And those trainings better be hard, or I'll be a fat Draconia when I return :o)
