So finally I got back to working on my dissertation :o) I've translated two more Egyptian biographies, oneof them being that of a well-travelled guy who had fought beyond the Egyptian southern and northern frontiers (and boasts about it, but they all do). I am more and more inclined to think that the form we are calling infinitive in Egyptian is actually finite - in this text, which belongs to a certain Sebek-khu, it appears in narrative and has a subject by default. What exactly the function of this form is, though, is questionable, because it CAN appear subjectless...
