I've had a pretty wonderful weekend. No kids and Brent was out of town so I was able to get some much needed alone time.
I watched a couple movies. "
Saved!" with Mandy Moore, which was much better than I had anticipated. Movies staring teen pop stars are usually pretty disappointing but this is actually a decent movie. Then I watched "
Yes Men" which is one of the funniest and also scariest movies I've ever scene. It's a documentary about these two guys who impersonate the World Trade Organization. They set up a fake WTO website and wind up getting invited these international conferences to speak on behalf of the WTO. So they go and present these outlandish ideas as a way of getting people to see how backasswards the WTO philosophy is but the people at the conference are so blinded by making money that they can't see anything wrong with exploited the poor.
My uptime was pretty big too.
Friday night I went to see the final All the Pretty Horses show at the Triple Rock which did sell out as I predicted. The energy was intense and it was great to see so many friendly faces and sad to know that I don't when I'll see many of them again. Saturday there was an open house at the
yoga studio I go to. There was a free yoga class, snacks, music and a drawing for door prizes. I actually won a CD and a pass for 5 classes. But what I was most excited about getting to see Amber again. I met her during the Ashtanga class I took but I haven't seen her since the class ended over a month ago. After the open house Amber and I had a wonderful dinner at the
Blue Nile. Then I went to the Carpe Mammae which was a lot of fun. It was pretty much as expected. I saw many friendly faces and met some new people. I finally got to meet
grenacia and
perruche_verte in person which I am very glad I got to do. I like making friends online but it doesn't compare to actually meeting people in the real world.
There were no other great adventures Saturday night but I wasn't disappointed. What ever I am doing is keeping me just about as amused as I can handle. And if I had been out any later I might have missed out on today's adventure. Life pretty much rocks (or at least it has a beat I can dance too)
Well that's about all. I gotta go to the airport to pick up Brent now.
