A most perfect weekend.

I had the most perfect weekend.  First off, Fridays we don't have rehearsals so it was nice to have an evening of no J & H.  I got home right after work and redyed my hair.  I went back to the first shade of red I ever tried and it looks good.  Then I set to the business of making dinner for Lee.  We were planning to have a quick dinner together before heading out to Cowtown for his birthday party, which we had decided for us it would just be appetizers.  We had a good turn out, about 15 people.  There were funny cards and gifts and bottles of wine and Guiness given to Lee.  It was a lovely evening of food, friends, drinks, and conversation... which was exactly what he wanted.  I made a spounge cake with whipped cream and fruit on top.  It was gone by the end of the party.  It was such a nice time.  Then Lee and I still had some alone time which was really nice too.  Slept in on Saturday... well, I let Lee sleep in very late and I finished some cleaning up and a ghost costume. Then we both got up and surfed Youtube for some new dance moves.  That wasn't too fruitful but we did try a couple of new ones.  Then he went home to get ready and I started on my hair.  I got so wrapped up in my hair rollers I was late to my rehearsal for the ball.... EEEEK!  I ran to Patty's house with my hair half up in rollers.  We did our rehearsal and it went well.  Then it was a solid hour and a half of gussying up for the ball.  Lee's mother Sharon agreed to drive us to the ball and pick us up so we could both drink.  They came and picked me up and Sharon had to take "prom" pictures.  We got there and immediately I got recruited to help one of the theater people with the picture set up.  Lee brought me some champagne (champagne and wine were part of the ticket price...woohoo!).  We then sat down for our first course, a very lovely green salad with almonds and honey mustard dressing.  Then they served us dinner, the BIGGEST rib eye steaks I have ever seen with a yummy horseradish creme sauce, green beans, and a scalloped potatoe.  I knew I had to sing at intermission (dessert time) for the show promotion so I ate about half the huge portion.  Then the big band came in and started their first set and Lee and I got after the dancing.  It was SO much fun.  Its so nice to have someone to dance with who knows basic ballroom dances.  We had a blast.  Then at intermission the J & H gang got up and did our promotion singing thing.  It went REALLY well and everyone just loved it.  I sense a sell out show is about to open.  Then we had dessert, a chocolate creme roll with strawberries.  Lee said he had to go back to the kitchen and request a dessert for me since I was singing when they served them.  He was willing to wrestle the cook to get a dessert for me.... daaaaawwwwww.... that's so cute.  The rest of the night was just a blast full of dancing and wine and conversation and compliments.  It was wonderful.  Lee's best friend Brendon crashed the party at about 10:30.  He offered to drive us home so Sharon could go to sleep.  That worked out very well.  We went home at about 12:30 and slept until 12:30 the next day.  We peeled ourselves out of bed and picked up a dquick lunch before heading to the theater to get our mics on and do sound check.  We ran the show with full orchestra and it went really pretty well.  Since we did rehearsal early yesterday (2-5 instead of 6-9), Lee and I had our evening together and it was awesome.  We had dinner at Applebee's with Sharon and then went back to my house and put the AC units away for the season.  Then we snuggled for like 3 hours and just talked about things that came to mind.  It was SO pleasant.  I hope the rest of the week feels so wonderful.
