It's time to visit the shaman and her family. :)
Another family portrait? Maybe I'll stick with this idea for the whole round. More likely I'll forget, but...we'll see!
Going clockwise: Aisea (live-in servant), Akolo, Jessica, baby Jumbok, and Tuzu, who is being strangled by the unwelcome Waiata. Thanks, Waiata. :/
Last time:
- Jessica, a.k.a., Shaman Efiki, worked mostly on making potions for the villagers. She may have mixed up a few ingredients, as she found out one love potion for Timoti didn't work out as advertized.
- Akolo contributed a masterpiece of a sculpture to the growing island arts scene.
- Jumbok was born and Waiata was annoying. Same old same old.
Aisea: Just once, I'd like to sleep in...
Jumbok: Tell me about it.
Tuzu: Why are all these big Sims so obsessed with getting me into
bubbling liquid?
Aisea: There now! Was that so bad?
Tuzu: Even worse than imagined, yes.
When she isn't busy being at work, Jessica is busy working from home. The villagers are counting on her for all their potion needs!
Akolo is delighted to feature his magnum opus right by the travel portal, so everysim can be greeted by his work.
Irihapeti: I never could understand rich Sims and their taste in art...
Tinkering with washed-up salvage is a fun hobby, but it can accumulate a lot of junk around the house. So Akolo is happy to share the fruit of his labours with his neighbours. The chief is always excited about the latest technology...
...but others are not so impressed.
David: Dude, are you giving me another broken racecar?
Akolo: It is not broken! I fixed it!
David: Uh-huh. Just like the last two "fixed" ones that fell apart as soon as I got home.
Akolo: Stop letting your wild beasts use them as chew toys then!
David: I'm just saying you shouldn't quit your day job, man.
Jessica: This potion will help you loosen up after a long day. Take two sips after work and feel the stress wash away!
Tuzu grows up!
And he's super cute! I like his big chin and (as we'll see soon enough) squishy little brows. :)
At least she earns her keep.
Tuzu: Koka! Papa!
Tuzu: Are you teaching me to fish today? You promised! Say yes, say yes!
Jessica: Of course we are, treasure. Just let us grab our swimsuits and we're off.
Poor Akolo just isn't cut out for this fishing thing.
Tuzu: Papa! Did you throw this back for me? I don't want it!
Tuzu: That's much better!
I told you his eyebrows were great.
Really the point of this outing was to test out all the Sun&Moon stuff I'd scattered about the lot. Most of it worked fine, but I was pretty disappointed that the cheese station didn't work. I thought a cheese seller would be a great addition to the market!
Note: The reason it didn't work is to do with this game and its CC limits, not any issue with the sets themselves. Also a lot of them require certain EPs, and this one is good up to Seasons, so that's one factor. But mostly the game is tempermental. :) I'd guess about 70% of the stuff I tried functioned as expected, so I'm pretty happy with what I got..
Tuzu: Ready Papa?
Akolo: Ready son! Give it your best throw.
Tuzu: HURAGH!!!
Akolo: Eep!
Jessica: Good evening Erita. How is little Nui? How are you? I was wondering if you wanted to come by some day. We could spend some time getting to know each other, let the kids play together, discuss our similar taste in clothing...
Erita: Thank you, but we are very busy these days.
Jessica: Okay, well...let me know if your schedule clears up sometime.
Tuzu: Greetings outsider! Would you like to be my next victim in a game of catch?
David: Ha, bold words from a little kid. I was a pretty good catcher back in high school.
David: Of course our pitchers didn't aim for the face!
Tuzu: That was great! You make an excellent target. Play again?
David: Not on your life!
These pictures were taken back at home, where the time was right before sunset again, hence the odd daylight picture in there.
Hi Jumbok!
Tuzu: Why did Jumbok get a party for his birthday and not me?
Akolo: Well, there is a complicated answer to that question, son. You see, when a baby grows up, it's a very delicate operation, as he cannot grow up by himself. So he needs plenty of support around to help him grow. But becoming a child is much more independent, just as you are. You see?
Tuzu: Are you sure you didn't just forget it was my birthday?
Akolo: We would never!
Just to compare: the brothers' personalities. Tuzu is going to be a little handful for sure!
As David can attest.
Waiata, please. :/
Baby goat! It takes 8 days for a goat pregnancy to come to term, which would be four more rounds from now (yikes!), so I fastforwarded. I justify it by the fact that I wanted to test out some things with the milk...definitely not that I'm impatient.
Akolo finally hangs up his fancy noble clothes in exchange for his original outfit.
Jessica (and I) like him much better this way.
Tuzu: Everysim focuses so much on this new baby, it's as if they forgot I exist!
You too? We should start a club! No baby brothers allowed!
Jessica takes Tuzu out that evening to test a few more objects and hopefully run into some Sims his age. Unfortunately it seems too late for the kids to be out, but at least they get some mother-son bonding time over berry picking.
Jessica: I'm sorry we couldn't find any new friends for you last night, Tuzu, but I asked Shaman Amanaki to bring Winford over to play...and make sure he behaves. You'll be a good influence on him, right?
Tuzu: I can't wait to ask Shaman Amanaki all about his big anniversary party!!
Way to go, Tuzu. :/ I think you might be getting kicked out of the anti-brothers club.
Tuzu: David! David, I got a new ball! Want to try it out?
David:*walks faster*
Tuzu: Ugh, you are such a pain, little brother. Where is Aisea? You're her problem, not mine.
Yes, where is Aisea?
She slipped out early to have a morning to herself.
Earnest can't stop talking about how thrilled he is to be finally reunited with his daughter.
Earnest: You should come by sometime. It would be good for Emma to have more nice girl friends.
Aisea is getting quite a bit of attention today, and she doesn't mind.
She also doesn't mind giving back a bit of attention...right in the middle of the most attention-getting spot on the whole lot.
They do retreat to a more private spot for the flirting though.
Notes:
- Like the last household, this one may have felt a bit jumbled as I tried to remember what happened so long ago. I had quite a few pictures that I had to delete because I obviously had a conversation in my head when I took the shots, but couldn't remember it at all now.
- I'm fairly sure that Tuzu doesn't actually know Winford-his own fault for completely ignoring Win when he came over-but I have no idea who he was talking to on the phone, so it might as well be a kid his age.
- And with posting this, I'm all caught up. That means I can play again, yay!
