I heard the phrase "Auf der Alm da gibt's koa Sünd', weil die Männer müde sind" and was told it refers to the milkmaids on the Alm. My question is, how common are milkmaids still? Is that a job you get, a summer internship or is it completely familial? Any info or thoughts would be appreciated :)

There have been several posts about German dialects and I thought I might give you an example of Lower German (Plattdeutsch) as it used to be spoken in or near Bremen.
