Yesterday, my Catullus professor offered that if we compose an elegiac couplet with more than 5 elisions he'll give five points on the final (eh, perhaps not worth the work) or if we compose a 12 line hendecasyllabic poem, he'll waive the final all together. All freshman Classics majors should be required to take German. So the Classics department hosts 'Classic Cinema' at least once a semester. We invite all the little high school Latin classes to watch a movie and discuss something classics related. Usually the movie is something like Ben Hur or Mesada or some other such thing. This semester?
