Yesterday, my Catullus professor offered that if we compose an elegiac couplet with more than 5 elisions he'll give five points on the final (eh, perhaps not worth the work) or if we compose a 12 line hendecasyllabic poem, he'll waive the final all together. I wonder if I could convince him to let me write the poem instead of the paper. That sounds like a much more enjoyable way to spend my time...
(If he'd let us compose the poem instead of writing the paper, I'd do it in a heartbeat. It'd probably be more work and take more time, but I'd enjoy every second of it.)
