My stomach is so fickle when it comes to breakfast. I'll go weeks where I want nothing more than a cup of coffee and a nice egg in a hole with a side of bacon, or some derivation thereof. So, I was trying to figure out what to have for breakfast this morning when I remembered my crock of rice from last night in the fridge. I warmed up some milk, melted a bit of brown sugar in it, and poured it over. Then I took a bite and remembered that I had cooked the rice last night with broccoli steaming above it. So, ew. Also, damn it.

Can anyone suggest a good/affordable protein powder for use in shakes? I had no idea there were so damn many out there. The choices are a bit overwhelming. I'm going grocery shopping on Saturday afternoon, and would love to pick up some for use pre-workout during the weekdays.

I don't really like to cook for myself. But I like to eat on a regular basis, so that means I have to occasionally make something for myself, as I can't afford to eat out at every meal. I finished Little Children the other day. It was a pretty satisfying read. Perfect for the summertime. I wish the film hadn't changed the ending, though. I found the ending in the novel to be far more realistic and satisfying, but I guess they felt they needed that extra dramatic push.
