No Weekend for Me

Sep 02, 2006 21:05

I wasn't entirely surprised to find that Barry won't be coming up this weekend. Here's hoping we'll see each other next week.

Joe and I went out for breakfast/lunch/something (I won't call it brunch, because it wasn't) at The Echo in Hyde Park. He had a burger and fries, I had two eggs (over easy) with wheat toast and bacon. It was heavenly. Also, full of hot ass men. Seriously - it was crazy up in there. Then we ran some errands, had a few mishaps relating to getting me a coffee, and eventually got back to his place to watch a couple of movies on DVD.

Shopgirl was first, and I enjoyed it for the most part. Steve Martin kind of creeped me out in it, but he wrote the book, so I think having him in it was fair. Friends With Money was also ok, and that's strange, because I never know what to expect of a film with Catherine Keener in it.

Then Barry called to tell me he wouldn't be able to make it to Cincinnati this week. Car troubles or something. He managed to get to and from his parents house which is equally as far from Lexington in the other direction as my place is from him, but I have trouble begrudging him family visits.

There are some other issues with he and I that need to be kind of sorted out, but this isn't the place to get into them. Anyway, that was my day. Woo.
