It has been a particularly busy summer.  I've been working 12 hour days on a special project involving ebook amendments to 60 years worth of contracts.  There are times (often around 8:30 at night in my office) when I regret my earlier push to advance electronic reading into the mainstream.  I had not taken into account the incredibly difficult ( Read more... )

Working on a project to clear up Kindle (and other electronic) rights for a bunch of old authors who want to see their books from the 60s and 70s made available in electronic form.  Not exactly easy to amend contracts from 40 and 50 years ago, when the word "ebook" used to be considered a typo.

Apparently, while I was away on vacation, the good folks at Fictionwise did what I predicted back in January that they'd do: blow the doors wide open on the ebook market.  According to this story in Publisher's Weekly, they have made their terrific eReader software available for free for the iPhone, and are registering thousands of new customers ( Read more... )
