Yes, 45 years ago I was baprised by my Dad at the Old Chapel in Upminster.  I do remember a lot about the day, a special time of confirming my faith.  As Dad was taking the service I was able to chose 3 of the 4 hymns (Dad chose the first), and they were -

I said last week that last Sunday we were going to Andrew's baptism - and I haven't got round to reporting back!

It was a long day - but truly special.

Having just typed about my baptism I decided to Google - and thought I would share these very sad photos.

They have brought back the memories - but are sad to see that the money has never been raised.  The trouble is that there is a natural spring under the building, so repair is evry expensive. It was originally built in 1800, with a new front ( Read more... )
