Bella sits in her room, idly playing with the telescope Arnold had given her. She usually keeps it hidden away, for use only during trips to Milliways. It would attract undue attention, otherwise. In Milliways, Bella is seldom seen without the latest edition of the London Times, which the Bar obligingly provides, along with a drink and something to eat whilst she is separated from her usual place and time. The snow has not stopped falling for eight hours.  Courses in the maths and science departments were canceled, out of fear the the students would slip on the notoriously steep, narrow stairways and break their necks.
