This afternoon we're leaving for Minnesota. It should be a fun drive--there's apparently quite a snowstorm moving east through Minnesota and Wisconsin. I'm hoping the worst of it will pass to the north of where we'll be, but we're going to try to leave a little early, just in case ( Read more... )

VividCon turned out to be very fun. I didn't get as much out of it as I would have if I'd stayed, but I met some people, learned some things, and generally had a really good time. Matt's doing fine. When I saw him yesterday, he wasn't in any pain at all, and he wasn't on any pain meds. They were keeping him in for the IV antibiotics and to get some steroids going (for the swelling), but he was totally fine. He's planning on going to work tomorrow. I'm so proud of myself. My computer's CD drive has been dying for the last six months--it wouldn't write any faster than 8X, and it was behaving wonkily in other ways. Since it was taking 5 CDs to get all my data backed up, each of which was taking about 20 minutes, this really wasn't convincing me to do backups--the last one was in January, and ( Read more... )
