Got back from a lovely weekend in NYC (pictures forthcoming). Friend who I was visiting and I went to the amazing Egyptian exhibit at the Met (Hatshepsut related).

Watched two more episodes of Saiyuki last night, one involving the gang rescuing Yaone, and one with the four sisters of doom (or some equally dramatic title). It keeps getting better and better. I love the sometimes different style: geographical patterns, odd colors, splashes of black and scarlet. It plays with the format, and so far, it works ( Read more... )

I keep wanting to make a long, long post on my Wodehouse crush, R. Psmith (who is witty, and intelligent and cool and actually has a heart, which is a Wodehouse rarity) but I am so lazy. Is anyone on the flist a Wodehouse fan?

Last night's ep (VM 2.19) was a good, solid ep. A pity first half of season was so lackluster, because the second one is quite good.

What is Saiyuki? It's an anime. What kind of anime? You can either read my previous post (it has some pics, as well), or as crumpeteer, who has a knack for such things, summed the whole concept as "This show is basically Saito, Kenshin, Sano and Yahiko trapped in a car for a long time." And who wouldn't love that?

Finished The Second Raid. Wow. put it all together, FMP is now giving Trigun a run for its money as my favorite anime.

I kept expecting Sousuke to have a breakdown, and a breakdown he did have. Wow. But if you think about it, all those years of repression and obedience and negating one's desire were bound to erupt spectacularly.
