M31 - M40 Hallway

Darman tested his injuries before going out. His leg was still stiff and shoulder sore, but otherwise were fine, and he decided that he could probably carry his own leaving his cell tonight without having to be bedridden. He had to give his captor some grudging respect - whoever belonged to the faceless voice on the intercom, he knew his stuff about proper demoralization, and while he made a lot of boasts that Darman thought needed to be backed up, he obviously was in the superior position and knew it. Darman knew that demoralization could take time, but it was almost always a one-way trip. You let yourself fall to it and you would essentially hand yourself to the enemy.

No, he planned to stay as confidentally optimistic about his chances as he could. It helped having other plans besides escape to attend to, at any rate. Trying to figure out how to carry out Order 66 was turning out to be a lot more time-consuming than he would have expected, especially when the Jedi and Force Sensitives here easily outnumbered a single clone.

The fact he was a commando and should be better was just plain irrelevant.

Darman sighed. If he even managed to eliminate one Jedi, despite his misgivings, that would still be a job well done. It would also be valuable lesson to be learned, seeing as he hadn't ever killed a Jedi before.

One step at a time.

Meeting up with Claire and potentially Wesker was probably the order of the night, if only to get himself armed. He was getting tired of carrying this blunt, heavy "flashlight" around, and would rather get his hands on something with a real edge.

Darman headed down the darkened hall, satisfied that he was properly oriented despite the shadows on all sides. As a clone, he had been bred and selected for perfect 20/20 eyesight, but he still had very poor night vision, probably worse than the typical human. He'd grown up used to seeing through rifle scopes and the comfort of his armor's advanced HUD, had years to get accustomed to seeing through filters and enhancers for low light conditions. Somehow the Kaminoans had neglected to take into account that there might be scenarios when their products weren't geared up.

It seemed like a stupid thing to overlook...but Darman supposed the Kaminoans assumed that said clone would be dead before he parted with his armor.

Maybe it wasn't so stupid afterward. Relying on his internal map, Darman marched himself down toward the main M hall and the corridor beyond.

ari, kurama, darman
