Last night at work I managed to deposit the register 2 float into the drop safe and place the deposit into the locked cash box where we keep our register floats.

*head desk*

Even with the power still out on Newbury Street I had to get to the store early to receive shipment Wednesday. I was so wrecked from the one-two punch of stressing over finances and the previous nights shenanigans that I tossed and turned all night. A transformer exploded in an NStar building next to the Hilton Back Bay about 6:30 tonight.

Then everything went black.The Hilton is about a 20 minute walk from where I work. We didn't hear the explosion so we didn't have any reference why the power cut out at 7:30. Another ten minutes and we would have left the store. Both registers were ( Read more... )

I was thinking about how different Christmas means to me now, as opposed to my childhood. We had many traditions, including when and how the tree was decorated, what day and time we went to Mass, and staying up until midnight to open one gift. This is the last month that I will be social outside of online until Winter kicks in and I hibernate. October was crazy busy as I took a temp part time job at Great Eastern Trading Co helping the owner with the Halloween rush. Last week the temps were mostly mid to lower 80's and I sold a total of $6400 during a 40 hour work week. The beginning of the week was more of the same but Friday and Saturday the weather was more representative of what September should be: mid 60's with a slight chill to the air ( Read more... )
