The Rare Occassion In Which I Listen To What My Body Is Telling Me

Even with the power still out on Newbury Street I had to get to the store early to receive shipment Wednesday. I was so wrecked from the one-two punch of stressing over finances and the previous nights shenanigans that I tossed and turned all night. In other words, I staggered out of bed after sleeping about 3 and a half hours. The city wasn't able to get power back up so we: myself, our stock person and my full time employee cleaned the store with only the light from the street. Our stock girl unpacked two cases of accessories and put them on on our display racks. If I had the pressence of mind to print out the two page accessory markdown the previous day, we would have performed the markdown. The back up generator lights were switched off so we had to use the light on Veronica's IPhone to use the rest room. By quarter past one, we were allowed to go home.

Since I had a 5:30AM wake up time Thursday, I had to bail on Excess. I was about to pass out by 7:00PM Wednesday, even a disco nap wouldn't have helped. Mornings are brutal for me and I had to be in the store by 8:00AM to bring the registers back online since they didn't shut down properly before the power was cut by the city Tuesday night. It ended up taking an hour and fifteen minutes to run through some tests and get the sales to poll from the 13th. The Prudential Center was still black for most of the day and early evening.

I was wired from work but went to bed at one AM last night. I woke up at ten and then crashed until 3 this afternoon. Thank the goddess that I called the store because I open tomorrow and I was convinced that I was the closing manager. Oops.

Well, I should do something other than wash the dishes. I started being productive but I had to watch part two of "Human Nature/Family of Blood" Doctor Who episodes. Not like I haven't seen them many times, but I love the "He's like fire. And ice. And rage." speech. I can watch the Martha years over and over again and not get sick of them. I'll try to get my XMortis photos up tonight. Then I won't feel as much of a sloth.
