Actually they work pretty well - sewing with NYK2 to recycle a jumper of her uncle's into something for her, knitting, a happy husband, crafting with kids at Messy Church, and baking a cake for my daughter's family in the shape of her husband :)

The train journey from Mallaig to Fort William is regarded as one of the greatest railway journeys in the world. I have done it before, just on the ordinary train, and it really is a great trip. We celebrated S2C's mid-week birthday today. It was a quiet family gathering D-d and family came, and Lizzy and wee Edie. We had a sort of rolling afternoon tea - here was the table with most of the food on it -

A conversation with my husband had led us to the conclusion that, when the dust settles, Steven Gerrard will be Prime Minister and Liz Truss will be managing Aston Villa into a decline which would take them down to the Vanerama League if they kept her for more than 45 days.

We went out for a meal last night, as it was S2C's birthday, to our favourite Indian restaurant. And this time I remembered to take a picture of our starters before we demolished them.

Where do the days go? It's almost October! So - Ukraine won the Eurovision Song Contest, to nobody's surprise. But actually the song wasn't bad, and would probably have been in the top ten anyway.
