another frosting question....

I'm diabetic and as such i dont use sugar in my cupcakes (i use Splenda), but i can never decide what to use for frosting. I want to try something that doesnt use alot of icing sugar if i can help it, but then i dont know!! Ive never really frosted my cupcakes before, or if i do i use buttercream but i get a little freaked out at the amount of fat and sugar im then eating.

Ive seen on here alot of people use cream cheese frosting, do i need to use the icing sugar to make it stiff, or will it set a little on its own in the fridge? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
