The kombucha turned out fine. We did a second ferment with apple juice. Not as bubbly as store bought, but nice. Will be trying out a second ferment with grape juice and one with a cranberry blend. We found a new favorite store bought and I hope to be able to reproduce it some day. Reed's Coconut water Lime Kombucha is very mellow and subtle. ( Read more... )

I haven't been keeping up recently. I've been trying to distract myself as I was stressed out all of April. We had to replace our 3 year old furnace and that was after it had been worked on every one of those 3 years. That was the unplanned expense. The govt needs to get their act together so that I can file my taxes. I have everything ready in turbo tax and have big plans for the return money. It looks like we will have enough to put in a new septic tank and drain field this year. I might even have some left over to buy a new teakettle. I know you all envy my life.
