Once again, it is time to pick up the pieces of my life and put them back together. This is not where I wanted to be in my life at 33.

• No long distance relationships. They don't work out in the long run.

Laura's parents called today. I answered the phone and talked to them a bit, then put it on speakerphone and handed it to Laura. We talked a bit about the plans for their upcoming visit. I got the flowers, and wow, that arrangement is HUGE!

I was thinking of hiding it under the bathroom sink, but it would have to be a shoulder high sink for there to be room. So it ended up in the spare bedroom. I hope she doesn't look in there tonight, not that she would have an reason to.

I was getting the ring out of my fire safe, and it occurred to me that while it may not be the One Ring, I still need to "keep it secret, keep it safe".

Hurray that florists tend to be able to do last minute orders. For some reason, flowers never occurred to me. But yesterday it occurred to me to have flowers waiting at home for her. Yesterday I finished the large 15x23' sign that I will be using to propose to Laura. That was a lot more work than I thought it would be. Doing the rounded letters was the toughest, and yesterday I had an O to do. I think I spent nearly an hour on the O alone. Fortunately once I was done with the O, I zipped right through the rest.
