Yesterday I finished the large 15x23' sign that I will be using to propose to Laura. That was a lot more work than I thought it would be. Doing the rounded letters was the toughest, and yesterday I had an O to do. I think I spent nearly an hour on the O alone. Fortunately once I was done with the O, I zipped right through the rest. What I learned from the day before is that if I trace a group of letters out first, then fill them in, I make better time. So I traced everything out first before touching the tape.

The other thing I learned from the day before is I would be very sore. So I took a couple Aleve at lunch, and another as I left. Between that and being more careful with how I was using my hands, I think it helped me make it through the day without a lot of agony.

It was a bit of a rush to see it done. I dragged it outside so I could unfold the whole thing, and even outside I found that space was tight, and I had to drape part of it over a planter. I went upstairs to get a picture of it from above, and I found that my mom's camera could barely get a wide enough angle to get the entire thing in the frame. Then I folded it up and left it at my parents house.

As I was about done, Laura called to see when I would be home. After some talking, she agreed to order pizza, which was waiting when I got home!

When I was about half way done, I got a call from the jewelry store. It seems the ring is ready! So I am going to find some time next week to go down there and pick it up. Maybe Wednesday? Or perhaps Monday, then I can stop at the grocery store on the way home. I'll keep it in my fire safe until I need it. Everything is coming together!
