Jordan the wonder-horse did a perfect 180 today - too bad it was on the road and it was because he was freaking out over five deer who bounded across the road a little ways in front of us!

for the last week or so,  jordan has been suffering badly from mud fever. fortunately he's not had it as bad as another horse at the barn, who had four legs involved, but it's still been bad enough to make him sore, and me cry. luckily elaine looked after him (bathing the affected leg three times a day, and coating it with furacin, as well as ( Read more... )

it's been a stressful week work-wise, and i am definitely looking forward to my horse-hug on saturday morning. jordan just stands there (especially if he's got some grain to work on) and lets me hug away. i've certainly had my share of dp hugs and cat hugs this week, but horse hugs seem to last the longest. after a few minutes, both dp and the cats ( Read more... )

i feel like i'm slowly emerging from the muck and mire surrounding my change in meds and the resulting adjustment period. last weekend was almost perfect except for it being too short.

• i had a good riding lesson, and felt like i accomplished something
