a rare posting from warkworth
i rarely post from warkworth just because i'm busy doing other things -- riding, mucking out stalls, grooming, sleeping, visiting friends, etc., but i have a few moments, and i just had to post about this.
i went to my first team penning event today at the barn. elaine has been encouraging me to do so since the fall. i didn't participate, but just got used to the lay of the land, and got jordie used to the sights (calves, big calves, long trailers, many horses going in different directions) and sounds (calves mooing, the banging and clanking of the trailers, and the yells of the participants). we even got into the pen and started cutting calves from the herd. he and i aren't bad as a team. it was one of those moments when you sit back and say -- this is so much freakin' fun, i could do this for a long while. so... next month -- February 11, i'll be officially signed up to compete.
