Another quick update on my life.  I am now teaching core French in the afternoon.  It is wonderful to have some stability in my life.  I might only be working almost half time, but it's enough to pay my rent, put gas in the car, and buy groceries.  Plus have a little to have fun like making costumes.

Woo hoo!!!! I got on with Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board!!!!!! I am so excited. The interview process was wonderful. All of my interactions with this board have been warm and friendly. They designed the interview so that applicants could work collaboratively and really showcase their experiences ( Read more... )

Well, I've finished my fall practical teaching placement.  It was a sad last day, but the students were really good.  I am tired today, yesterday was long.  First a doctor's apointment.  Hadn't seen my Dr. in 6 years so there was lots to catch up on.  My arm still hurts from a tetanus booster.  Then I drove north, for about 3.5 hrous to North Bay ( Read more... )

So I just saw the new Sherlock movie tonight.  Hee hee.  So much fun.  Very slashy.  I do like seeing movies in Japan.  Only 1000 yen (about $10) on Wednesday for women.

Ah yeah.  What I day.  I taught 5 kids classes.  We're only supposed to have a max of 4 in a day.  The last two classes I only had 10 minutes in between them.  Yeah, we're supposed to have 15mins.  And of course because we're doing Halloween lessons, really crazy.  Parents taking pictures, kids not wanting to wear costumes, and not having supplies.

I’ve been in Japan almost 5 years and haven’t had classes disrupted by a typhoon.  It’s happened.  ECC sent out an announcement.  All classes for all of Kinki district are canceled for tomorrow morning.  The whole district. Sunday, my Japanese class had a special cooking class event.  We got to make bento (Japanese lunch box).  The results tasted good, but the students aren’t Japanese housewives so they didn’t look amazing.

Sigh.  This is probably going to be a long story.  Names haven’t been used to protect the anonymity of those involved.  My problems at my Wednesday school started long ago.  Years ago.  This is my 4th year at this school.  I’ve been working at this school longer than the school director has.  And she would be where my headaches started.
