I seem to have lost my mojo on several fronts. Here on LJ for example, no inspiration. Not much happening. There is of course the little stray(?) cat that visits my garden every day now and, given my love for cats, I'm looking out for him. I enjoy Mondays. Some good TV: Mastermind, University Challenge and Silent Witness and some comfort food to help - Birds Eye Cod fish fingers and French fries. And a tin of John West tuna for Riley. Might manage a glass or two of Chardonnay...

I am planning menus for Dave's davesmusictank next visit on Friday 3rd February. Don't tell him but one night we will be enjoying - PIZZA! Then I'm thinking sausages, baked beans and mashed potatoes and then perhaps a stew with dumplings. I will also need some beer, wine and single malt. Dinner last night was simple to prepare, satisfying, not too much and delicious. A McCain's baked jacket potato with a good dollop of Anchor butter, a smothering of Philadelphia cream cheese and a topping of smoked salmon, not forgetting a good sprinkling of black pepper!

I have set down menus to see brother Dave davesmusictank and I through the period 23rd to 27th December (Dave travels back to Faversham on 28th). Dinner on the 23rd will be that staple food - Pizzas! This was a great meal. Riley enjoyed the steak too!. I had some Jersey Royal potatoes left. Gave them a good scrub and removed 'eyes' and then boiled for 25 minutes. Cooled them off in cold water. The Fillet Steak: I place it between two layers of clingfilm and then bash it with a kitchen hammer. Flattens the meat and tenderises. I coat with extra ( Read more... )

Prepared for dinner last night. Not too healthy I guess but I am allowed the occasional indulgence! Back bacon rashers, Pomodoro tomatoes, fried eggs served on toasted Hovis seeded granary bread. Delicious!
