Limped my way to the Port Mahon on Sunday night to see Emmy The Great for the first time. She's bloody good, isn't she? I should have rented a room on Cowley Road for a few days, it would have saved some time!

Sole support was from The Priscilla's, an all-girl garage/fuzz-pop guitar band. I wasn't that impressed at first, but they grew on me as the set went on - occasionally clichéd but always fun, they had an enthusiasm and energy about them that was pretty ( Read more... )

I just got back from the Wheatsheaf, having braved the rain and the late buses to see the first of four gigs over the course of four days.
