My cat, Connor, who has shared the past nearly eighteen years of my life, has passed away.  He died in his sleep last night.  I will miss him, but I have so many wonderful memories of the last seventeen and a half years ( Read more... )

So the chicken coop is done!  YAYYAYYAYYAYYAYYAY!!!!

Well, it's almost done, lol. Hubby still wants to put in some feeders made from PVC pipe and a place to hang the waterers... plus he still needs to build the fence around it for the pasture. But other than that... it's complete!

Since I had the camera out snapping pictures of the new chicks today, I grabbed the opportunity to take a few more around the place. I think it'll be interesting to see how the scenery changes as the seasons turn!

I received my first of two mail-order chick shipments today! In this order, I have three barred Rocks, three Rhode Island Reds, and the hatchery also put in two "packing peanuts" (extra chicks) that I believe are Red Star roosters.

I'm laughing at myself because I used to (privately) make fun of people who went all ga-ga over their dogs but now I am one of them.

I guess one has to own a dog to really understand, lol!

Anyway, I decided Lady's food wasn't good enough for her.  It was Dollar General dry dog food, which my father in law had bought, and it was Nasty with a capital ( Read more... )
