back to normal; sudden blizzard

hubs is back with us again! his next trip will probably be around April or May. he's still deciding when, but since May is tax season in Taiwan, he's gonna have to go no later than the end of May. kinda don't want him to miss my birthday, but then again, i'm only turning 31, which in my head, isn't a big deal as when i turned 30, ya know? besides, i have to work on that day, and it's a Monday to boot unlike last year when it was on a weekend :P

after a month without him around, i had set up a little routine that Kay and i followed every day, so it was a little difficult at first to get used to having him back. for example, i have to share the kitchen, TV time, and our living space since his futon takes up the other half of our living area. i also have to do laundry EVERY day or else we'll literally have no room on our clothesline to let the clothes dry. there are a lot of things i can gripe about, but in the end, i am REALLY glad he is back. ^_^

you should have seen Kay on our first family day out! she was stuck to him like "nattou stuck on rice", or so my mother in-law described it when she saw the pictures from that day ^_^;

after a week of being together and a weekend, our routine is back to the way things are. since i work in the afternoons and don't get home with Kay until 7:00 at night, he's been really good with sharing some house chores. for example, he does the dishes, cooks dinner when he can and even helps with laundry. out of those three, i'm only truly happy about him cooking meals. the anal side of me nitpicks about things like how he should hang the laundry so that it dries properly or clean the dishes so that there's no more oily residue on them, but i've been trying my best to bite my tongue and be grateful for what i have, because nothing says "i love you" more than someone cooking you a good meal when you're tired, freezing and hungry. ^_^ it's also a plus when that someone is a better cook than yourself XD

speaking of freezing, this weekend has been the coldest we've had since we moved here! there was a freak blizzard on Saturday that gave us so much snow that Kay was able to make a decent size snowman! i was working and indoors all day, but hubs took Kay out not knowing that the snow was going to get so bad. after we all got home, Kay's hacking cough returned, so nobody got a good night's rest :(

we woke up this morning to more snow and Kay stayed in bed all day with a fever. it got up to 39.7 once, but after giving her some fever reducers, it went down to a low fever of 38.3. she slept through most of the day only staying awake for some lunch and dinner with some TV on the side. i didn't even bother to give her a bath tonight since she was so un-genki and went right to sleep after i brushed her teeth. i'm just hoping that i won't have to give her another dose of meds in the middle of the night after her first dose wears off. :( at least on Monday, i'll have time in the morning to take her to her usual ped. that's something that both hubs and i like about my current 1:00-5:30 schedule. :) actually, hubs and i are both thanking our lucky stars that Kay got sick now and not sooner. that would have been so bad for us to deal with what with me being alone here and working at the same time ^_^;; anyway, if Kay still has a fever on Monday, she's gonna be staying home with hubs while i go to work. i also have a dentist appt. tomorrow night, so i probably won't be able to really get home until 8:00 :/ sigh... such a busy Monday...

here are the pics from our last couple of weekends! enjoy! :)
