hubs is coming back in just two more days!! i'm soo happy about it too! XD
this week has been a great week! granted it hasn't ended yet, but just knowing that i don't have to work on Saturday (Japanese holiday) AND hub is coming back that night makes me just forget anything bad that has happened or might happen! :D
so while i've been here with Kay working and taking care of her, hubs has done a marvelous job of taking care of my parents who just started their life again back in Taipei a few months ago.
for those who don't know their history, let's just say that because me and hubs eloped, he was never in the good books when it came to my parents ^_^;; there have been attempts in the past to smooth anything out between them, but they were all busts because hubs couldn't let got of the past. it wasn't until we moved to Japan that hubs had an epiphany and became more forgiving. it was a very zen moment for him :) basically, he found a balance in his life and it turned his way of thinking around for the better ^_^
so, in January when he went back to Taipei, he arranged to meet with my parents and everyone decided to put everything in the past and move forward. for the past month, hubs has visited my parents weekly, took them to places and just generally hung out with them whenever he had free time. :) my parents have been giving him their hospitality in the form of deliciously cooked meals (which made for equally delicious left overs he took home) and good company. we'd skype every night and he'd always say how great of a chef my dad is and how mom makes the greatest dumplings! "no wonder you guys had a bunch of restaurants!", he'd say. ^_^ he also took care of them and helped them when they needed it, like with info and research. :) dad would call him every day during the week to see how work was going or to see if he needed anything . so all in all, he is truly one of the family now, and i am so happy that finally, everyone can just get along well :)
anyway, it's nice to have a break from working on Saturdays. since i have four back to back actual classes on Saturdays, the lesson planning i do for those classes usually take me two to three days mostly, because i only have mornings and evenings to work on them. i also have to plan for my classes at the daycare that normally take a couple of days, so i'm pretty much working most of the time. then again, that's what teachers do :P
i finished lesson planning for this week on Tuesday. so when Wednesday came around, and i was preparing to make lesson plans for Saturday's classes, i had to remind myself that i didn't have to :D talk about a load off my shoulders! ^_^
sure, i could pre-prep my lessons and use my time wisely, but wouldn't that defeat the purpose of a break...? ^_^;; although, knowing me, i'll probably start getting bored and make up my lesson plans just because there's nothing good on TV to watch ^_^;; man, i have no life :P
after hubby comes back, we plan on making a family day out of Sunday and going to the Yodobashi Camera electronic store at Tenjin Station. my MP3 player has been acting up lately, so we're going to look around for a new one. then, we'll stop by the "wholesale" (業務)supermarket to restock on frozen goods and groceries and head on home after that.
hm... that means i'll probably spend Saturday doing chores during the day, and then take Kay to pick up hubs at the airport in the evening. then, spend the whole day Sunday out and about... actually, i'm probably not going to have any time to lounge at home during this break... ^_^;; ah, we'll see...
