My little girl is 11.  She turned 11 in October and is half way through 5th grade.  She drives me nuts one second and I love her to death the next.  Puberty has begun.  I am terrified of the next few years.  I know that middle school (it was junior high for me) is some of the worst years of a kids' life.  Bullying, drama, boys, hormones, etc. make ( Read more... )

The first day of school has finally arrived!  All 3 kids headed back to school today and not a moment too soon.  If I heard one more "I'm bored" or the deafening screams of 5 kids (friends over at our house) I think I would have beat my head into a wall.

Aside from Virginia losing teeth, it has been quite busy.  On June 4th, I was a chaperone for the third grade field trip to the Arbor Hills Nature Preserve.  I was in charge of 4 girls, all knew me.  That helped.  However, I think I over stimulated 2 of them because they pooped out after lunch.( Field trip pictures. )

We attended the elementary school open house tonight.  We walked and when it was done after 7 pm, we left the school and found out that it was sprinkling.  We also noticed people pointing up at the sky.  When we turned around, we saw that there was a double rainbow.  So I told the kids to pose under it.

I have been coughing since February.  A small, irritating cough that just wouldn't go away.  At the end of last week, it finally turned into an upper respiratory infection.  Since these things always happen before the weekend, I finally visited my doctor on Wednesday.  He said it was time to take me off of Lotrel (my high blood pressure med).  My ( Read more... )

Right after I posted earlier, I got a phone call from Natalie's teacher.  She told me that Sam was causing problems.  In the 2.5 years that I have had children attending the school, I have NEVER gotten a call like that.  It seems that Sam put his hands around a child's throat after lunch.  I think he was playing but still, he has been told not to ( Read more... )

Virginia's second grade class is making a name for itself.  They came up with a little song in class that has begun to make the rounds in the Plano ISD's administration.  They performed it today at a spirit rally for the whole school.

I haven't done a full post in a while.  It's not like I haven't had the time.  The short ones are all in school now so I have oodles of it.  I just, well, haven't.  Well, today is laundry day and I am avoiding the sheet changing part of it so now is a good time.  This is going to be long.

The kids headed back to school today.  The twins have started all day kindergarten and Virginia is now in second grade.  I get 7 hours of uninterupted time to myself each day.  Oh, what shall I do?  ;-)
