Adeena contacted Marilyn and me about going to see "Newsies" on this coming Sunday. For those of you unfamiliar with the movie "Newsies," it's from 1992, a Disney film featuring Christian Bale as Jack Kelly -- and based on the actual newsboy strike in the 1890's in New York City. I talked to our friend and neighbor June today. She spent three and a half hours (!!!) in urgent care recently in order to see someone about her legs, which have been bad for ages now. They're swollen, tight and red. She was told she has an infection and was given an antibiotic to help. She's supposed to elevate her legs. Hopefully when she sees ( Read more... )

Marilyn took me to my diabetic follow-up appointment at my clinic with nurse practitioner Leslie. The appointment was for 4:30, but my reminder phone call from yesterday had asked I be there at 4:20.
