College! FUCK COLLEGE. Seriously. I am so sick of all things that have to do with college. And it's only just begun. Went to an informational session at the school Tues. night with my neighbor, who has a perfect child with perfect athletic ability. Lives and breaths sports. Yay team.

OMG THIS! I don't have any super lofty dreams or ideas or talents or ambitions. My greatest goal in life is really to just be able to pay my own rent, bills, and have enough money to buy books and cat toys. Sure I'd like more, but it's not this overwhelming need or drive. I hate how college is supposed to be this GRAND WORKING TOWARDS THE SUPER BEST YOU! It clogs up the gears

I originally went to college because I wanted to LEARN ALL THE THINGS! It was great for me, but I genuinely don't get why a 4 year degree is considered mandatory when high school teachers pitch it. I know many people who got 4 year degrees, were unemployable, then went back to get RNs, paralegal certfications, trucking school training, surveying certification, medical records training etc. etc. and lie/avoid mentioning their bachelor's. i think more guidance counselors should share vocational certification information.

I wish my kid was interested in a vocation. I think that might be so much easier.
