I am very tired, but that asside I need to blog.
Ryther came home with a container of fund raising cookie dough tonight. You know how the kids sell dough in schools as a fundraiser. It's pretty expensive, but hey, what isn't. Only problem is this year, it's not even really dough, ready to bake (the plastic tub was sitting on the table and I'm thinking, 'why isn't this in the fridge?') Well, what it is is a $14.00 tub of flour and sugar. Seriously. Two pounds of flour and sugar and chocolate chips for $14.00. And you have to add your own eggs and butter. Now if that isn't a scam, I don't know what is. It's from delisheries. I'm sorry, but I want my tub'o'cookies ready to throw in the oven.
And speaking of suckered, I bought some seeds again today. I just cant help myself. I'm going to try Brussels sprouts again, even though the last time I ended up tossing them because every leaf had a layer of bugs in them. Gross. Also bought beats, no idea why because generally I don't really like beats. And of course I bought more sunflower seeds. 'worlds largest variety'. Yeah, well, we'll see. I do love sunflowers though.
The kids were out yesterday and they went adventuring in the pseudo woods that are across the street by the 'crick'. The neigbor has what I have long suspected to be a huge crop of bamboo, and sure enough that is what they were dragging down the street towards home, like a band of pandas. I asked to see the plants and they were pretty good stalks. I asked if I could have any that survived their play, for my garden, and sure enough they kindly brought over four, four foot 'poles' that I can use this summer. I don't encourage stealing, but I wouldn't mind a few more taller poles. lol. Funny thing is the bamboo has been green all winter, but now that spring is here it's turned brown. It's interesting stuff.
I got a message when I looked at Ged's Twitter site that said "Twitter is over capacity". I guess it's popular. I sure don't get the appeal.
My brother's Suburban had major electric problems, and it turned out to be the alternator. Screwed up the whole dash, the brake lights, everything. Love the electronics in these cars.
I was at the post office yesterday when two birds decided to either harass me or have a battle right in my face. Scared the crap out of me. Two birds suddenly fluttering in my face.
At the pharmacy today, I saw a woman who I used to go to stamp club with. I waved and she realized who I was, and the funny thing was she said she and her stamping friends who I used to get together with were just talking about me recently. All good I'm sure. She filled me in on how things were. Apparently one of the women who used to stamp had three of her things published in Stamp magazines and one will be in a book. She was a serious stamper, had a whole room devoted to it. They still get together at least once a month to stamp, and go places together. It was great to catch up. They were a fun group. I still have some of the cards we made in stamp club. Whenever I use them, I always get compliments, even if I didn't happen to make those ones.
I stalled the dump truck yesterday. Couldn't get it restarted. It's been so good to me, but I guess it was my April Fool's from the guy we were burying. In desperation I called my brother and asked his advice. He doesn't work far from me and I figured if worse came to worse, he could come over and start it. He actually likes standard vehicles. He told me to put the gas to the floor and hold it. He explained why, about the choke and the vehicle being cold. It made sense, but I cant repeat it. So I did what he told me, and after three tries it fired up. I made sure it didn't stall after that. I think it was my fault for not really warming it up before backing up. Too much for the old beast. But I'll know next time to just keep my foot on the gas. UG.
I think that's about it for now. I've become hooked on Facebook's version of scrabble. Great for the spelling challenged. Himself is always asking how I'm doing and wants to help. lol
