Someone put this on Facebook and tagged me. It's interesting, so I thought I'd post it here, too. The BBC supposedly came up with the list, but I have quite a few problems, which I've listed at the end. ( Apparently the BBC reckons most people will have only read 6 of the 100 books here. )

I haven't finished The Odyssey yet (80 pages to go!), but I've already picked out my next book. If on a Winter's Night a Traveler by Italo Calvino. It's about reading!! How could it be bad?! ;)

I've grown tired of the book I'm reading. (Charles Dickens's Bleak House.) I'm actually not tired of it, but the BBC did such a great miniseries of it that even though I want to read the original, I know what happens and have those images very firmly in my mind. Philip Pullman has written an excellent and terribly exciting trilogy called "His Dark Materials". It came out several years ago and my entire family tore through the books. But now they're coming out with a movie!! I have high hopes, mostly because I loved the books so much ( Read more... )
