Heavy Metal Elves is an interesting (albeit short) column on Tolkien-inspired music.

There was a small yellow butterfly in my kitchen on Saturday. Luckily I was able to shoo it outside, after a certain amount of effort. Conclusion: butterflies are at least as dumb as flies, just prettier.

I was thinking about this yesterday, as I appear to be moving at least partly into a new fandom again.
