I managed to write the required 1667 words yesterday, despite yesterday being a bit of a trying day (my grandmother went into hospital). I still haven’t caught up yet, but I haven’t fallen behind any further, so that’s something.

So it’s the 17th of November, aka day 17 of NaNo. I have yet to start writing for today (it’s 10.41am) and currently my total is 21 250.

I’m aware that I am behind on NaNo, but I am not bothered by this at all. Last year I only reached 25 000 words in the entire month, so being nearly there in just over half that time makes me feel really really ( Read more... )

As the title says, it’s the end of the first week of NaNo, aka the seventh day.

So far I am doing pretty well. I’ve only been behind one day so far - Thursday - and I caught up on all that extra on Saturday. This is really really good, as last year I started off ahead, then went to camp for a couple of days and it all just fell apart. This time ( Read more... )

Winterheart has started off more slowly than The Circled Green did last year. Not only is the opening not as dramatic (there's snow and a small overcrowded house, as opposed to a dying woman) but the voice etc. is rather slow. If any of my writing is to be called "literary", so far Winterheart's voice is the closest.
