We used to go to Franconia Notch every year. Camping was a cheap thing to do with 4 kids and besides, we loved it. The opportunity to be in the area again was something I couldn't pass up.

The last time I was in Franconia Notch was the summer of 1994. Such a long time ago, but I can remember almost everything about that place as if I was there last weekend. Travel down the road a spell and you'll see this house, sitting in all it's glory in the middle of a field. Owned by a husband and wife, they tended the house and the surrounding land. The husband passed away a few years back and Mrs. Hoosier went on alone, renting the surrounding land to a local farmer to tend. But she was never really alone. ( Read more... )

The trip to the brother's was pretty awesome. A 7 hour ride on a train that smelled of freetos/feet/puke landed me in Main Street Station. Gosh, what a gorgeous building. They really did a fantastic job with the restoration. If only I would have had more time to look around and take pictures. I guess that will happen on the next trip down ( Read more... )
