Fic post #1: untitled Bones ficlet (Wendell/Hodgins, PG13)

May 11, 2009 23:00

People left some great key party comment fics in my last post ( which you should totally check out), and since it was my idea, I felt I should contribute something of my own. I didn't write the CSI fic, because that's going to have to be long to do it justice, and I have to do actual work at work this week. Well, through tomorrow night, anyway, ( Read more... )

You gave me the song and I wrote something totally silly to go with it. :) It was quick and totally unbetaed, but um. For you, Caroline. ♥

It wasn’t often that Jack found himself up early enough in the morning to get to see the show, but it made the fact that he was up at 7 far more palatable. He had caught Wendell dancing for Alex when she was little, but he had never gotten sick of the sight of Wendell’s morning dancing. He had to be quiet, and pretty stealth. His sons had a pretty good daddy detector, which always gave away the game. So he had to sneak in.

He was lucky though, both were too wrapped up in their silly dad to notice him in the doorway. Wendell had a spatula in his hand and was kind of using it as a microphone.

“It was 7:45, all in line to greet the teacher Miss Kathleen. First came William, next came Nathan, third in line was me…Jack smiled so wide his face hurt. It was weird to think that just a few years back he wouldn’t have really considered being up this early and listening to an off key rendition of really ( ... )

Oh, oh, I love this so much. Thank the iTunes gods for shuffling this song last night, because this is perfect. The gratuitous display of affection and sing-song 'I love you' makes me melt into a puddle of goo. ::holds ficlet tight and never lets go::

Good gravy, I love these two so much it's stupid.

*holds YOU tight and never lets go*

I have officially listened to that song like... too many times to count. SO CUTE. And the image of Wendell. OMG. WENDELL.It just gets better with time. :D

And I like to think Wendell started that when Alex starts to get to the sullen, "Parents shouldn't show that stuff" phase cause his parents did it to him. Only fair. ;)

ME TOO. I love them so much I rewatched all the parts with Wendell in it last night.

True confession: I have a DVD of Wendell's Greatest Hits (aka Wendell's episodes). I forced Rachel to watch it the last time she came to stay at my house. I need to add Cinderella and possibly the finale, if he's indeed in it, and I will bring them this summer. Wendell/Hodgins viewing party!

a little continuation of the key party ficlet for you, just because carolinecrane May 12 2009, 17:23:54 UTC
Jack waits until Wendell's next rotation in the lab to do it. He's not sure why, because they've seen each other since then, and there have been a couple dates where he's carried the thing around in his pocket the entire time without ever bringing it up. And it's not like he can claim he forgot about it -- even he couldn't sell a story like that -- but somehow the time just hasn't been right ( ... )

but at least you get to keep this one.

Seriously made me sigh like a goof ball. SO SWEET. I love the idea of Jack over thinking about it and I LOVE the stolen kiss. I am a little over giddy about the idea of Wendell showing up and being able to just open the door and walk in... and Jack hearing the noise and even though he has been waiting for it (he stayed in the front room 'reading' just for this purpose) it kind of makes his heart skip a beat. OMG. Jack. ♥

Aw, sitting in the front room that he never, ever uses because it's too big and formal and totally reminds him of his mom, just so he can hear the key turn in the lock. ♥ times one million.

Jack is such a romantic, too, for all he tries to be curmudgeonly, that you know that's exactly what he'd do.
