[Today, a woman walks into the messhall. She's moving pretty awkwardly, and perhaps paying an undue amount of attention to her own breasts.]
...Alright! Is there anyone hangin' around who can tell me exactly how this works?

A breast is a mammary gland found on the torso of mammals such as humans. Both males and females develop breasts, but they're generally more prominent on women because at puberty, female sex hormones such as estrogen promote breast development. Men don't usually have that.
Anyway, the mammary is largely made up of fat, connective tissues such as collagen and elastin, Cooper's ligaments and modified sudoriferous glands, or sweat glands. The glands are modified to produce milk. Most milk remains in the back of the breast until suckling on the breast occurs, causing muscles in the glands to push milk forward through between four and eighteen lactiferous ducts, allowing the milk to drain out the nipple.
