Well, I'm writing a paper on Jane Eyre for my Austen/Bronte class, and I think it's going to turn into an manipulative!narrator!Jane paper, which is not what I actually think about the book, but is really a very fun reading. I have had an epiphany.

Stories in which two lovers are separated by fate or circumstance and forced to leave each other and never meet again are much sadder and more moving and make me sob hysterically more than stories in which one of the lovers dies.

( Spoilers for everything. I fact, you should probably never read this, because there will be spoilers for SOMETHING in it, and you will read them, and then hate me forever. )
