Loooong week.

It's been a long week. And I'm just incredibly grateful that my Arabic test tomorrow is on grammar and things that I instinctively just get rather than vocabulary, which I would have to actively learn.

It has also been a long day. I had to give a presentation in my Austen/Bronte seminar today, on the Luddist and Chartist movements. And I finished my part, and the rest of my group went on, and I suddenly became really, really intensely dizzy- like, so dizzy it hurt. Rather than either pass out or throw up--or both--I sat down very suddenly and conspicuously. And it went away--slowly--and left me in a cold sweat, with my skin tingling and my hands shaking. Ok, this never happens to me. It hasn't for years. It was very jarring, really- I wasn't nervous, I had felt fine before, I didn't lock my knees...and I suddenly came within inches of fainting. In front of my class. That would have been bad.

And then, in my discussion section for my English class, we spent half an hour of the period discussing similarlities between Snuffleupagus from Sesame Street and Mephistophalis from Dr. Faustus. It was brilliant.

english, arabic, bronte
