Periodically, the world presents me with proof that I am not actually a person; I am actually an escapee from a parallel Disney dimension, where my voice was enough to summon swarms of happy cartoon bats to sing, dance, and do my bidding. This morning presented me with another piece of proof. You see, I like to walk. And I like to sing. I like to walk and sing. It's like the Reese's Peanut Butter Cup of being me.
This morning, I was walking and singing. Specifically, I was singing Dr. Horrible's part from the song 'On the Rise,' with all the menace and brooding necessary. If you don't know the song, it starts with:
Any dolt with half a brain
Can see the human race has gone insane,
To the point that I don't know
If I'd upset the status quo
If I throw poison in the water main...
Really cheery stuff, right? So I hit the end of Dr. Horrible's part, and paused, expecting my MP3 to play on in glorious solitude. Instead, from about five yards behind me, a fairly decent tenor voice sang out -- "Look around, we're living with the lost and found, just when you think you've almost drowned..."
Yes.
I not only experienced another duet attack this morning, I experienced a duet attack of Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog. I am assured that this does not happen to most people. I think perhaps that they need to sing more.
Or else they're just awfully bored.
