16 Yuu sat down on the plastic chair next to the hospital bed. It was quiet in the room, the only thing that was hearable was his and Akira’s breathing. Yuu tapped his feet on the floor, waiting inpatiently for Akira to wake up. He needed to talk to him.
He simply couldn’t imagine that Kouyou would hurt Akira this badly. That he would break his bones. He wasn’t that aggressive - was he even aggressive at all? He knew he could hurt people. But not this way. Not in a violent way. Wouldn’t he?
A soft groan escaped the sleeping man hir mouth as he stirred. Yuu held his breath and hoped that he would wake up. Thankfully, he did. And the first thing he did, was smiling. Even before he saw Yuu. When he did, his smile only became broader. “Ah, you’re still here.”
Yuu nodded. “How are you now?” he asked with a low voice, not wanted to disturb the other patients laying in this hall.
“Better. How long did I sleep?”
Yuu shrugged. “I don’t know. I guess two hour and something. Akira, I need to ask you something. Something really important.”
”What, are you going to ask me to marry you?” Akira smirked.
The raven shook his head while he grinned. At least Akira didn’t lose his sense of humor, even though he was laying here like this. “I talked to Takanori this afternoon. And I told him about your situation, and Kouyou. He panicked.”
Akira’s face expression stayed blank. “Panicked?”
”Yes. He couldn’t believe Kouyou lied to him again and he’s now at Kouyou’s apartment to talk with him. Are you absolutely And I told him about your situation, and Kouyou. He panicked.”
Akira’s face expression stayed blank. “Panicked?”
”Yes. He couldn’t believe Kouyou lied to him again and he’s now at Kouyou’s apartment to talk with him. Are you absolutely sure it was Kouyou who hit you?”
“That Kouyou-guy, does he have dark blonde hair, does he look like a girl, does he-“
“Yes, yes, yes. Okay. It was him. I know. But Takanori’s in total panic now.”
Akira sighed. He didn’t answer something.
He regretted hurting Takanori. When they were still together, he did treat him like some piece of crap, and he probably made him feel like he was useless. But now he was gone, he wanted him back. Like always, he longed for that what he couldn’t get. You don’t realize what you’ve got until it’s gone. Of course.
“How is Takanori now?” he asked with a lost voice, averting his gaze to the ceiling.
Yuu shot his eyebrows up in surprise. He expected that Akira would act like Takanori was a complete stranger to him, stubborn as he was. “He is fine. He has a boyfriend now. Kouyou. I’ve never seen him as happy as now.”
Akira’s eyes narrowed. As if Yuu said that to hurt him on purpose. “Hm. Fine then.”
“Why do you ask?”
“Just interested.”
”Did you expect he was broken and shattered?”
”Perhaps.”
“That’s cold.”
“I know.”
A silence fell. Yuu coughed and stood up. “I think I’m going to call Takanori outside. Do you want me to come back?”
“Sure, some company is nice,” Akira smiled. Before Yuu could walk out, he muttered “tell Takanori I said ‘hi’”, but the raven didn’t hear him. The blonde sighed.
“Did you talk to him?” was the first thing Yuu asked when Takanori picked up.
“I did. I think Akira is lying, Yuu. I really do. I think he doesn’t want me to be happy!”
Yuu blinked a few times before he thought about how Akira reacted when he told him Takanori was happy. “Maybe. I don’t know.”
“Kouyou can end up in jail for this, Yuu! And if Akira is lying - what he is in my opinion - it can end bad for all of us! You need to make him tell the truth, Yuu. Please.”
“But what if Kouyou is lying?”
”He. Fucking. Isn’t!”
“But-“
”Yuu, you didn’t see him when he told me he didn’t do anything wrong. You didn’t see the look in his eyes. You didn’t hear the sound in his voice. You fucking didn’t!”
”Calm down, Taka, and mind your language! I’m not the person you need to yell at. Come here if you dare and yell to Akira instead.”
“Okay. Fine. I will.” He ended the call and left Yuu with a stunned look on his face.
---
“Where are you going to?” Kouyou asked when Takanori suddenly stood up to grab his jacket and his cell phone.
“Hospital,” Takanori answered muttering, “and you’re going with me.”
“Why? Does it have something to do with Akira?”
“It does. Don’t ask, just follow me. Now.”
Kouyou did as he’d been told and followed Takanori out of his apartment, to the elevator and the parking lot downstairs. Everything went by in an awkward silence, and Kouyou didn’t dare to open his mouth and to say something. Takanori looked utterly irritated and annoyed, he looked upset - perhaps even angry. When the hospital approached, Takanori muttered with a low voice: “I’m going inside his room. You just stay outside, in the corridors. When I need you, I’ll call you. Okay?” He looked up to face Kouyou. The look on his blank face almost frightened Kouyou - he looked utterly serious. He slowly nodded.
“Good,” Takanori said before stepping out of the car. He locked the car as Kouyou was also outside of it and walked quickly towards the big glass door. Kouyou could barely keep up on him, the small guy was walking so fast and hurried.
When he ran upstairs, Kouyou was already panting from running. Was it like Akira was dying or something? He sighed in relief when Takanori finally stood still in front of a door. He looked at the small card with the number ‘345’ on it. “Wait here. And wish me luck.”
Kouyou couldn’t even ask for what or Takanori had already entered the room.
Akira looked up when he heard the door being opened. His heart skipped a beat when his gaze met Takanori’s glare. The smaller man closed his eyes for a second before leaning against the door. “What are you doing,” he asked almost whispering.
Akira frowned. “What do you mean?” he murmured.
”Are you faking this? Are your bones really broken? Come on, Akira. I know what kind of a sick liar you are. Don’t give me that ‘I don’t know what you’re talking about’-shit. ‘Cause I know you are lying. But why?”
The blonde laying in the hospital bed blinked several times but didn’t respond. He shook his head. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
In an eyeblink, Takanori was standing next to his bed, his hands clamped on the metal edge of his bed. His knuckles were white. “I’m not going to repeat myself. Just tell me why.”
“Why what?”
“Why did you lie? I know you did - you cannot deny it. Everyone knows you did!”
Akira’s eyes narrowed. “Everyone knows that your so-called boyfriend did this to me, too.”
“He did not. And you know that yourself too. You know damn well you’re lying! Or what else? Is this some kind of a joke? Do you think this is funny? You are causing trouble for all of us?”
”Did you dye your hair?”
Takanori inhaled slowly, trying to calm himself down. But he couldn’t. He was so, so angry. And he wanted to throw Akira from wall to wall, but he behaved. “Don’t change the subject.”
“It looks really good on you.”
”And do not try to flatter me! Be a man and be serious, for god’s sake!”
Akira’s face turned blank. How Takanori behaved now, was the total opposite of how he was a year ago. He wasn’t that vulnerable, frail guy anymore. He could fight for his own good now. And he could show him he was brave.
“Look me right in my eyes,” Takanori muttered.
“Hey, you just told me not to-“
”And tell me what Kouyou did to you.”
Akira blinked and frowned.
“Do it.”
He let their gazes met, and Akira started: “I was at the candy shop when Kouyou stepped in. He punched me in my face and almost broke my nose. And then he…” He avoided his gaze and before he could even continue, Takanori started yelling at him.
“You see?! You just proved to yourself and to me that you are nothing but a pathetic liar! This is too much. I’m going to tell the doctors. And maybe the police too. You don’t even know what you are doing, don’t you? If everyone had believed your stupid lies, Kouyou could end up in jail, and you would’ve seperated us!”
Akira stared at his nails. “I know,” he muttered.
Takanori laughed in disbelief. “So that was what you were aiming for?”
When Akira didn’t answer, he felt his heart being stabbed. Did he? Did he wanted him back?
“Don’t tell me you were. Or are. Or… whatever,” Takanori muttered. “Oh my God, you’re such an asshole. Unbelievable. How could I ever fall in love with someone like you?” He rolled his eyes and started laughing before calling out Kouyou’s name.
“Oh, are you going to call your boyfriend now? How brave,” Akira bitched at him.
“At least I have one. At least I am able to love someone. I don’t think you are, right? With all your pitiful regrets and your issues. You can’t keep a lover for more than two days - or rather two hours right?”
“Are you going to try to get to me now? Are you trying to break me?”
“You’re lucky that I’m not a violent person. Or else I would have shattered you so badly. But thankfully you already are.”
“You’re pathetic.”
”I have the right to hate you.”
“Hating someone is wishing someone to die.”
”I know. I know damn well. That’s why I hate you.”
A/N: Oh see, Taka is getting angry. *laughs*
