12 When Takanori and Kouyou got out of bed, it was almost noon, but Kouyou was still tired. This nights, he had nightmares. Probably because Takanori had been do cuddly and sweetly towards him - not that he minded it, but it brought back memories. Not-so-good memories.
“Want some coffee?” Takanori asked as he walked towards the cabinets in the kitchen, “or do you prefer tea?” He smiled, though his eyes were barely opened. Perhaps he was tired too.
“Coffee is fine,” Kouyou muttered, stretching his arms and sighing.
What were he and Takanori now? Lovers? Or… It was all confusing. Were they going out, did they form a couple? Without thinking too much about it, Kouyou walked towards Takanori and wrapped his arms around the other his waist, hugging him from behind. He pressed a soft kiss against his neck and let his chin rest on Takanori’s shoulder.
“Why so cuddly all of a sudden?” Takanori grinned, placing his hands on Kouyou’s.
“Is that prohibited?” Kouyou muttered smiling. Takanori shook his head, making blonde strands of hair fall into his neck, stroking over Kouyou’s cheek.
“Are we going to tell Yuu?” the smaller guy suddenly asked carefully, his voice low. For Kouyou, it was some kind of answer; they did form a couple. He couldn’t help but conjuring a smile on his face, but he shrugged. “Do you want him to know?”
“Actually… yes,” Takanori said, “he’s my best friend and normally, I tell him everything. And I don’t want to hide my love for you when he’s around.” He turned his head to press a kiss on Kouyou’s lips. “Do you?”
“It’s okay for me if he knows. It’s easier then, indeed.”
“Telling him when he wakes up isn’t such a good idea…” Takanori chuckled. “He has a huge morning crossness.” He lifted the ewer and poured the boiling water in the two cups. Kouyou carefully let go of him, he didn’t want him to spill the hot water on himself.
Takanori carried the two cups to the living room, placed them on the table and sat down on the couch. He stared absent-mindedly out of the window as Kouyou sat down next to him.
”What are you thinking about?” his lover asked.
“Several things…” Takanori muttered back, “bust most of all; you.” He turned his head and smiled before placing his lips on Kouyou’s. As he felt the blonde pressing back, he parted his lips slightly and asked carefully for permission to taste Kouyou once more. When he got that permission, he let his hand rest on Kouyou’s hip, feeling the other his hands on his shoulders.
“If you want to make out, go back to bed.”
Takanori quickly pulled away when he heard the familiar voice, sounding cranky and muttering.
“Goodmorning, Yuu,” he muttered as a reply, not wanting to give into his effort to have a discussion. He looked at Kouyou from the corner of his eye and he saw faint blushed appearing on his face as he tried to suppress a giggle. It made himself smile.
At least they didn’t need to tell Yuu now. He knew it now, if his brains were already awake.
“If you want some coffee, there’s still hot water in the ewer,” Takanori said. Yuu turned around to the kitchen and disappeared out of sight.
“Well, that was embarrassing,” Kouyou muttered, a grin spread on his lips. “Hey, do you want to go to the mall with me? And some other stores - I’m running out of food.”
Takanori nodded and took a sip of his drink. Yuu came back and collapsed onto the couch, burrying his head in a cushion. He murmured something, but the pillow put in front of his mouth made it impossible to hear. “What?” Takanori laughed.
Yuu lifted his head, his eyes barely opened, and repeated: “I feel like shit.”
”Maybe you’re having your menses,” Kouyou said dryly, making Takanori burst out laughing and Yuu glare at him.
---
When Takanori had emptied his cup, he quickly got dressed and while Kouyou searched for fresh clothes in his own apartment, Yuu walked towards Takanori and said firmly: “Are you two a couple now?”
Takanori nodded cheerfully, but Yuu didn’t seem to agree with it.
“Yuu,” Takanori sighed, “I know how you think about Kouyou now. But I know his others sides too. He told me things which explained everything. He got hurt, and-“
”What a shitty excuse.”
“So you think my problems and issues were also based on some ‘shitty excuse’? Well, thanks for that.” Takanori wanted to turn away from Yuu and leave, but the raven quickly added: “Wait, I didn’t mean it like that.”
”Then don’t say such things. I’m going to the town with Kouyou, so if you need something, call me.” He slipped out of the apartment and saw Kouyou waiting in the hallway. “Ready to go?”
Takanori smiled and nodded. They stepped into the elevator, went downstairs to the parking lot and stepped into Kouyou’s car.
“You surely have a nice car,” Takanori smiled, “I like red. It’s one of my favourite colours.”
”Mine too,” Kouyou chuckled as he started the motors.
When Kouyou finally found a place to park his car, they stepped out and faced a huge shopping-centre. “Whoa, I’ve never been here before…” Takanori muttered, totally stunned.
“When I need something they don’t have in the mall, I’m always coming to this one here,” Kouyou explained, “they have a lot. It’s so huge… You can get lost in it.” He saw the childish sparkles in Takanori’s eyes, which disappeared as he cursed: “Damn, I don’t have enough money with me…” He quikcly took his wallet and searched in it. “But thank god I have my credit card!” He smiled broadly.
As they entered it, Takanori saw how huge it was indeed. They didn’t only have a huge number of clothe stores, but plenty of othes too. This was heaven for a guy like him.
“It’s shopping time!” he squealed, making others turn around and look at him. He chuckled as Kouyou patted his head. “We’re not here to spend tons of money!”
“But it’s so… so… huge! How can you resist all those stores staring at you, whispering and ordering you to walk inside… to buy something…”
“Stop drooling.”
Takanori quickly wiped away the small line of spittle which escaped the corner of his mouth.
“We’ll come back another time and I’ll let you buy whatever you want, okay?” Kouyou giggled, “but now we’re only here to buy things we need.” Takanori wanted to open his mouth to say something in protest, but Kouyou cut him of quickly. “Like food! I know you were about to say ‘but I need all those stuff’. Haha, I won’t give in.” He smirked as Takanori pouted.
“You’re mean! You’re just like my mom!”
“I guess you wanted to spend her money back then?”
Takanori nodded and smiled sheepishly.
“Then I’m not as half as worse, believe me.”
Takanori grinned faintly. As Kouyou made efforts to walk further, he quickly said: “Is it okay to hold your hand?” He chuckled at Kouyou’s surprised gaze.
“Of course,” the taller man said, entwining their fingers as he grabbed his hand. He heard a small giggle escaping Takanori’s mouth as they walked further.
“So, what do you need actually?” Takanori asked.
“First, I need to go to a very good - and expensive - candy shop because my mom will be celebrating her birthday in a few days. I’m going to buy her some chocolate.”
A flash of pure joy appeared in Takanori’s eyes. “Candy… shop?”
“Don’t tell me you’re such a chocolate-addict as my mom is.”
“Chocolate makes you fat. I preper sweets.”
“Chocolate makes you fat? Oh my, you really sound like my sister.”
With a faint grin Takanori averted his gaze and watched the many stores in the shopping centre. It surely was huge, and maybe it would be even better that Kouyou told him not to buy something, because otherwise he wouldn’t have enough money left to pay the rent.
Unlike other occupiers in the apartment building, Takanori always payed his rent on time. He was afraid that if he didn’t, he would get kicked out of his apartment - while he also knew the landlord gave him some time if he couldn’t give him the money on time. The landlord knew him only as ‘the guy who always payed the rent on time’. But he knew his name, too.
“The candy shop is there,” Kouyou pointed. Takanori watched how he pointed at a big, fancy store, at the end of the long aisle. It looked very nice, it really caught people their attention.
“I have good news for you,” Kouyou said, “you can taste several kinds of chocolat there. So while I’m searching for chocolate for my mom, you can fill your stomach there.”
“Chocolate makes you fat,” Takanori pouted, “you want to see me fat?”
“At least not as thin as you are now! Are you eating well?”
“You already asked me - and yes, I do eat well.”
Kouyou frowned. “If you say so.” He pushed the glass door open and entered the fancy shop, making a bell ring as he did. Takanori followed him to the part of the store which was filled with chocolate. “Wow,” he muttered, surprised by the number of chocolate there.
Kouyou bent down and searched for some kind of specific chocolate on the lower shelve. He brought his hands to his lips and played with them, what he always did when he was doubing about picking something.
Takanori looked around. He saw the many different kinds of sweets there - caramels, lollipops, and many more things which could damage your teeth -, saw the many colours mixed together, making the shop look as the happiest place on earth, and then his eyes fell on the guy behind the counter. He was helping some costumers.
When he looked up, shaking the blonde hair out of his face, he smiled at the people he was helping and Takanori felt a knife stabbing his heart. He gasped for air and quickly turned around to Kouyou, who was still searching with a frown on his face.
“Kouyou, can we please go…” he whispered, barely able to produce some sound.
“I’m not done yet,” Kouyou muttered, his gaze set on the row of boxes.
Takanori turned his head, his gaze meeting the guy behind the counter. His brown eyes fluttered before he wanted to say something, but Takanori averted his gaze quickly. He felt utterly hurt, he needed to get out of here. He felt like suffocating. “Kouyou, please…”
The time stood still for a moment. There was no air left in his lungs, he felt like fainting the next given moment. There was some lack of oxygen here, and he couldn’t breathe.
A cold, almost painful shiver ran down his back as the familiar voice sounded too close.
“Can I help you?”
