You don't need to apologize for taking a long time. I'll go for months without snarking and I don't even have the excuse of being busy. I just didn't feel like it. I'm rolling my eyes at Claudia so much. Mac constantly tells her to slow down, but does she listen? No, because a fucking thirteen year old knows better than the expert. What irritates me is that Mac isn't even saying anything remotely harsh. I get being upset at criticism because I'm a huge baby. But in the grand scheme of things, slow down isn't harsh. It's not like he said that everyone was just coddling her and she had no skill. He just said to slow down ( ... )

I really can't remember the character but this whole drawing as fast as possible made me think of one of the kids from the Wayside series.

I guess in my mind I view people with art skills as being perfectionists. To the point of not being able to rush it, Want to take it as slowly as possible and study what I've done so I can fix the things I'm not happy with. It's not like it's a speed competition where I have to draw this in 4 minutes.

That's just what I thought of too! Her name was Bebe.

she drew like hundreds of pictures in less than an hour or something! I actually have two Wayside books! My awesome Husband bought those for me, and some other 'classics': 3 Merivale Mall books, some Barthe Declements, soem Christopher Pike books and others.

Is Quint the only BSC vacation boytoy that ever stuck around outside super specials?

Also, if the goal is be 'famous artist', sure, for certain values of famous Mal is probably not going to make it. However if the goal were "make a living" being able to write and illustrate her own books would go a lot farther than Claudia's debatable creativity.

The prices listed seemed okay/only a touch low when the books came out. And they make a nice record of progressive inflation when you compared them to what the kids were paying to take the train from Stamford and eat at the Automat in "From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler."

Also, if the goal is be 'famous artist', sure, for certain values of famous Mal is probably not going to make it. --And not to mention how art is in the eye of the beholder in a way. I know artwork was mentioned on another snark and I posted a video of some artwork that Dean Stockwell had done. He had taken dice and made crosses out of them. I'm not religious at all but I thought the artwork was pretty damn cool and wouldn't mind having a few around the house. And I also pointed out an interview with Falco where he had paintings behind him and it was just red paint smeared on a canvas. I wouldn't want those paintings. Just not my thing. So that's my preferences. I wonder how many would genuinely prefer Mallory's artwork over Claudia's? And vice versa.

Depends on where you're talking about. If Mal draws cute mice wearing clothes, unless she gets into something REALLY dark (like "Maus") the Serious Contemporary Art World isn't going to have any interest. However, she could be a commercial artist. Hit the wrong niche there and you're a no-name drawing for Shoebox Greetings, hit the right one and you're Thomas Kincaide with a multi-million-dollar licensing empire. Claudia, meanwhile, might have a better shot at the Serious Contemporary Art World, but only if she got over her inability to take criticism on board really fast, or was okay with people ascribing meaning to her work she doesn't understand herself. Making money? Might, might not...

K-Ron says that they were able to hide the dog for three days;--Okay, I'll suspend disbelief they were able to get to the dog poop and piss right away. But barking? Or did Kristy just start to bark madly anytime the dog started barking ( ... )

To be fair, we all know K.Ron does a lot of barking anyway. It wouldn't raise an eyebrow.

Dark Willow!! <3

The two stop and get tacos, with Dawn snotting that she doesn’t eat meat and has to get a veggie taco. Richie orders one vegetarian, one regular and she bitches that he thinks she’s irregular. He says he hopes not, and my mind went right into the fucking gutter on that one. Did they just make a poop joke or something more sinister?

Well, Dawn is a poop, so...

Dawn reminds me of this woman my sister's fiance used to work with. One day he offered her a bite of something in his lunch, that had meat in it. She got all self-righteous: "I'M a vegetarian!" His reply was, "Don't you have a leather purse?" She shut right up. ;)

During lunch, she sits next to Claudia, whose lunch description gave me a stomachache just by reading it: ‘ a Fluffernut sandwich, Oreos, chocolate chip cookies and Fritos’. Really can’t fucking wait for puberty to hit this bitch and Karma to give her an epic ass to go with the epic bitchery. Mal goes to tell her that Claudia’s lunch looks awesome, but gets the smackdown from Claudia that there’s ( ... )

I got yelled at in college by some bitch because I was wearing a leather jacket. She said I killed cows for it and I told her to shut up because she always eat cheeseburgers. Her stupid ass said it was different because she wasn't the one killing the cow for the meat. I told her that unless she saw me scaling the Bronx Zoo fence to get to those cows; there were no cows in the city and the jacket already came like that. She shut her mouth.

I love Snoopy! Belle is expensive, I looked some up on Amazon! I, no joke, have like 30 different stuffed Snoopy's in my bedroom, Snoopy and his family as my background on the computer, even pj's. One was even on my wedding cake.

thank you so much for the complients, and I'm down if road_baby is!!

....What did she think happened to the skins of the cows (steers, technically, but whatever) that went into the hamburgers she ate? Technically, they were killed to feed her cheeseburgers, your jacket was a byproduct of her McDonald's order.

I got the parts not fit for consumption! Fucking people make me laugh, like Jessie in Saved by the Bell bitching about oil, and she's wearing plastic earrings or something.
