Just saw
The Bad Seed. A disturbing psychological thriller from 1956. It dealt with some very controversial subject matters for that time period. It was so controversial and mentally jarring that the filmmakers had to add a comical, light-hearted scene after the ending credits to make the movie marketable for the audience of that era. I understand why they put it in there, but it kind of ruined an otherwise spectacular film, just like the unsuitably wacky bloopers shown during the ending credits of
Being There. So unless you want to risk coming away from the movie upset at a sudden, bipolar lapse in quality, I suggest you stop the movie when "The End" pops up.
The only other problem I had with a movie was that it could have ended in three spots. The first two endings would have worked wonderfully, but the third ending has a deus ex machina quality to it that made it a little too far-fetched. Fortunately, these endings only spanned a few minutes and weren't as long, drawn out endings of
A.I., and the overall quality of the movie didn't suffer too much.
I regret having spent more on the bad aspects of the film, but in order to talk about the good qualities it would be hard not too give away spoilers. But trust me when I say it's an incredible films and you should watch it.
