The Prime Minister made an Announcement yesterday, covering things like the number of people who have died  from Covid in the UK, when Lockdown might be ended, when schools might reopen, and apologising for having mishandled the whole thing.  After all, we passed 100,000 covid-related deaths earlier this week.

PM Theresa May met with Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon yesterday.  Apparently it wasn't that friendly a meeting - Scotland having mostly voted to stay in the EU and Britain to leave.  As usual there were photos.

Good thing the washing dried yesterday.  Today it is raining and forecast to continue to do so until midday at least.  Yes, it's warmer, up to 12°C, but the consequence is that, with the wind veered sou'westerly, it's also WET.  Having had the bin men round yesterday, they are followed by roadsweepers today, presumably to clear up anything the bin ( Read more... )

There now, the increase in gardeners saving rainwater has lead to an increase in the mosquito population.   That is the increase in open water collection containers.  As anyone who has done even basic Biology will know, mosquitoes lay their eggs in stagnant water, where they hatch into wriggling larvae which congregate at the surface of the water ( Read more... )
